Michael
K. Landman
graduated from the University of Vermont with
a B.A. in Political Science in 1979 and Vermont
Law School in 1982. He was admitted to the
Bar in December of 1982 and has been practicing
workers’ compensation law for the past 25
years.
In 1994 Attorney Landman founded the law firm
of Landman Akashian, LLP with Attorney Michael
C. Akashian.
Attorney Landman’s prior work experience has
been that of his fellow practitioner and in-
house counsel for American Mutual Insurance
Company from 1986 to 1989. In addition to
practicing at the Department of Industrial
Accidents, Attorney landman has tried cases
in the District Court, Superior Court, Appeals
Court in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
In the past Attorney Landman has been a speaker
at seminars conducted by MCLE, Massachusetts
Academy of Trial Attorneys and A.I.M. Mutual
Insurance Company Claim Seminars.
Attorney Landman is the senior partner in
the Boston based law firm of Landman Akashian,
LLP with offices in Worcester and Milford,
Massachusetts.
Michael C. Akashian is a
founding partner of Landman Akashian, LLP.
Since 1995 he has worked in the Boston office.
He is a graduate of the University of Miami
School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida in
1983 and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts
at Amherst in 1980.
While in school has worked for the Massachusetts
Department of the Attorney General as a summer
intern. Upon graduation he began his legal
career as in house counsel for American Mutual
Insurance Company from 1984 - 1986. Thereafter,
he was an associate and then partner with
Laurence Locke and Associates and Wynn and
Wynn, P.C. from 1986 - 1995.
He is an active member of the Massachusetts
Bar Association Bench/Bar Practice Group and
the One Hundred Club of Massachusetts. He
has also been a member of the Benevolent Protective
Order of Elks, Brookline Lodge 886 for over
27 years.
He concentrates his practice in areas of Workers’
Compensation, Social Security Disability and
Accidental Disability Retirement.
He has continuously appeared as a trial attorney
at the Department of Industrial Accidents,
Social Security Administration, many of the
Retirement Boards, Superior Court, the appeals
Court and the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.
He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts, the United States District
Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals. He is
also a licensed real estate broker.
Jay E. Macklow is the managing
attorney of Landman Akashian’s Worcester
(255 Park Avenue, Suite 1102, Worcester,
MA 01609) and Milford (115 Water Street,
Suite 101, Milford, MA 01757) offices. Mr.
Macklow is a 1989 graduate of Boston College
and a 1993 graduate of New England Law Boston,
formerly known as New England School of
Law. He was the Managing Business Editor
of The New England Journal of Civil and
Criminal Confinement. Mr. Macklow is admitted
and licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts and the State of Rhode
Island.
His practice consists
of a general practice with a focus on workers’
compensation, personal injury, real estate,
domestic relations, Social Security Disability
and criminal defense.
Attorney Macklow has many years experience
as a trial attorney. He has conducted trials
and hearings in both courts and at administrative
agencies.
Mr. Macklow is a member of the Massachusetts
Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of
Trial Attorneys, and the Worcester County
Bar Association. He has strong interests
in sports, fitness, music and family.
Arinda R.
Brooks graduated from Southern
Oregon University in 2006 with a Bachelor of
Science in Human Communications.
She attended Boston University School
of Law and graduated in 2009.
While in law school, she
participated in the Boston University School
of Law Civil Litigation Clinic, gaining first
hand experience working with attorneys from
Greater Boston Legal Services.
She also received a Public Interest
Project scholarship and worked as a legal
intern for the Massachusetts Commission
Against Discrimination.
In January 2008, she
joined Landman Akashian, LLP as a law clerk.
She worked part time in that capacity
through September 2009 when she joined the
firm as an associate.
She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in November 2009 and currently concentrates her practice in workers compensation, social security disability, accidental disability retirement, and personal injury.
